The Birth of Lax Rat

Once an integral part of NativeAmericans’ culture, lacrosse continues to grow in popularity as more and more kids are exposed to the exciting sport that combines elements and skills from basketball, hockey, football and soccer.  With this rise in popularity, a strong and proud lacrosse culture has emerged.

Given this rise in popularity, the Martin family of five, all lacrosse enthusiasts, were discussing that there hasn’t yet emerged a dominant lifestyle and apparel company that caters exclusively to the lacrosse community.   After blurting out rounds of different brand names, we all stopped when we heard "Lax Rat" and the name stuck!  It is our hope that the Lax Rat branded apparel is not only fun to wear, but helps promote lacrosse to generations of new players and enthusiasts from all walks of life.

What is a "Lax Rat" and Should I be concerned?

No, don't call your local exterminator!  The name “Lax Rat” is a slang term that means one whose life is consumed by lacrosse.  This is similar to the more popular term “gym rat” meaning someone who spends a lot of time in the gym.
